A Different Kind Of Love

I heard the very sad news today at work that a dear friend passed away on Sunday. Betty was one of the leading lights behind the League of Friends kiosk at work ... always ready to chat and with a lovely smile, she ribbed her sister Janet (who also works there) mercilessly - the Terrible Two, they were. Despite their teasing of each other, you'd be hard pressed to find two sisters who were as close as they.

Although her passing was in some ways expected, as she had been ill for quite some time, it was still a shock, and the news has left me subdued today. However, she is at peace now, and hopefully now back with her beloved husband, Ken, who died two years ago.

Betty, may you rest in peace. I am privileged to have known you and to have been able to call you a friend, and my life will forever be richer for your brief presence in it. With love and fondness xx
